Word of the Day
Words are things that people say or write. They have the power to do good or evil. Ephesians 4:29- Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
A truth is an indisputable fact. Although some people try to dispute truth. Especially God’s truth. John 17:17- Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.
Wisdom and knowledge often get confused, but they are two completely different things. Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment. Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through education. If you have wisdom, you have knowledge. But you can have knowledge and still not have wisdom. James 3:17- But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Christianity isn’t just a religion. It’s about a relationship with God. Think of God not only as your Heavenly Father, but also as your best friend! John 15:4-5- “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
A trial is any difficult, trying, or painful situation that a person goes through that God can use for good. James 1:2-4- Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
A blessing is a gift from God. God gives us little blessings everyday. Whether it be getting to work on time despite the traffic or having a stranger there to help at a convenient time. James 1:17- Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.
A tabernacle is not only a building, it is anywhere where God dwells. Your body is a tabernacle. 1 Corinthians 3:16- Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
Contrary to popular belief, fellowship is not a gathering of people eating food. Honestly, I used to think that. When I heard fellowship I thought food. Really, fellowship is a gathering of believers bonding and strengthening each other in Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:11- Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Beauty isn’t just outward. The Bible emphasizes the importance of inner beauty. 1 Peter 3:3-4- Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
