As you munch on chocolate and hunt for eggs filled with candy and money, I hope that you remember the true meaning of Easter. It’s easy to get caught up in the world’s definition of Easter. But God calls us to be set apart. Typically my parents hide Easter baskets for me and my brother that are filled with little treats, edible and inedible. Another Easter tradition for us is to bake a cake shaped like a sheep. This year we are breaking tradition. My brother is off at college, my parents are not hiding Easter baskets, and the sheep shaped cake pan is staying in its box. We won’t hunt eggs or eat chocolate bunnies. We are celebrating Easter the way it should be celebrated: worshipping with fellow believers at our church home. No matter what you choose to do today, never forget the sacrifice Jesus made for you and how much He loves you each and every day.
